Folklore Kennels is a small, home-based preservation breeding program in southeastern Ohio, devoted to Beagles and Pugs bred with intention—planned carefully, produced thoughtfully, and always with the future of the breed in mind.

Folklore is rooted in a lifelong love of dogs, beginning with Pugs who were part of our family from childhood. Their devotion, sense of humor, and unmistakable presence shaped our understanding of what it means to share life with a dog who truly belongs with their people. As our program grew, Beagles followed—bringing their joyful spirit, comic charm, and steady companionship, and deepening our commitment to preserving breeds whose hearts are as important as their structure.

We breed intentionally to preserve temperament, health, and correct conformation, raising each litter in our home as part of daily family life. Puppies are started with purposeful early development and enrichment, including Puppy Culture–style foundations, and grow up surrounded by the rhythms of a home with young children—experiences we believe help build confident, adaptable companions.
